Eevee's great because it represents potential. Change, chaos. All the different permutations and instabilities of life, making decisions... and such a great aesthetic all in the same chubby little fox body. But that change is environmental, mostly! Eevee's eevolutions come from what the environment does!

Mimikyu's great because it represents the opposite: how the self can create to influence the environment. It wants to be friendly, and accepted, and popular, and even without the benefit of unstable DNA, that's what it sets out to do. That old rag also protects it from sunlight!

Look, it's the duality of mon at the end of the day.
