When she clutches at his arm, though, the smile vanishes--but the soft expression he wears is fully connected to blue eyes gone cool instead of cold, present instead of scouting his next target.
"Can't say I'm from any especially grand company." he admits, leading her down the hallway, reaching down to shift her grip from plastering herself to him to wrapping her arms around his bicep, letting her have his arm in slightly more gentlemanly fashion--and letting him pull her away from any oncoming threat.
"I did serve in quite a few wars, though. Different squads, regiments, so on and so forth. Never actually heard of those two--the Eorzean Alliance, and ...what was the other one? Issgord?"
