Amanda's just leaving a little bakery (all the warm, delicious smells mingling together had been just the right side of overwhelming, and being able to bite into a simple glazed donut without any assistance almost brought her to tears. The combination of the food and the rain outside drew her back to her first hours on Destiny and those little berries and Nick's arm touching her--), and as she walks out she's grateful that her experience with Gray just hours after arrival and worry about slipping on wet sidewalks has made her watch her footing even when lose in foot, so she doesn't actually trip over the man sitting on the curb.
She takes a step back, watching for a moment as she tries to figure out if he needs to be drawn out of his own memories or left to sit with them. She's still half-caught between this rainy street and Destiny's mess hall herself, and not sure where she wants to linger. And maybe she should be intimidated by this man's appearance, but for some reason she's not. Maybe because her own life has taught her to at least try and not make assumptions based on a person's build and bearing.

"Ah…hi, sorry--are you okay?"
