Blimey, you can't tell what the blood belongs to without licking it. Furthermore, your eyes are the weakest of the senses and can lie to you and can be fooled by psychic projections but stuff like taste and smell can't be mimicked.

It's not so much the licking of blood that's got me baffled--- I mean, that's certainly part of it--- but how on Earth can you tell SPECIES from tasting blood??
